Made for "Weekly Game Jam #45" (not submitted, unfinished at deadline). A fun project built in Pico-8, the player must rub an egg with their mouse to hatch a chick. The faster the egg is rubbed, the faster the chick will peck. The score is determined by the amount of worms the player can pick up in the 2nd phase of the game, by guiding the chick with the arrow keys.
This project taught me a lot about how the Pico-8 system handles animation. While I didn't have the desire to complete the game with title/transition screens, music, sound effects or other polishing features, I was able to fabricate the system I had originally sketched when the jam theme was announced and am ultimately happy with the outcome.
